Clare Carmody (BArch Hons)

Clare has worked for Abacus Design and subsequently, Smart Alliances since completing her Bachelor of Architecture Degree with honours in 2004.

She is currently working towards her New Zealand Institute of Architects registration.

Marlborough Landscape and sustainability motivates design

A particularly passion for Clare is the challenge of incorporating sustainable principles into her designs and providing build solutions for the many naturally unique sites that Blenheim and the Marlborough Sounds have to offer.

Diverse range of projects hones flexibility

Clare has been involved in a broad range of projects since starting with Abacus Design, including residential alterations, additions and new builds.  Commercially she has completed a number of office and shop fit outs, new complexes and public amenity buildings.

Her skills give her the ability to see a job right through from feasibility and concept design, into the design development and consenting phases, through to procurement, tendering, contract management  and completion. Currently Clare is enjoying developing her 3D computer drawing and rendering skills.

A bright future for Marlborough

Having grown up in Blenheim, Clare is familiar with the area over a number of years and is passionate about developing Marlborough into the future.  She enjoys the outdoors and the lifestyle Marlborough offers with the many wineries, restaurants and cafes.
