and high performing homes

Passive House and High Preforming Homes are becoming increasing more popular. They are energy efficient and sustainable homes. Within the Smart Alliances team is a Certified Passive House Designer who can provide Passive House and High Preforming Home Designs

Passive House

Passive House is an internationally recognised building standard that delivers a building which requires very little heating or cooling energy, resulting in a comfortable and a healthy living environment. Using evidence-based design tools, with tried and tested building technology a passive house will consume significantly less energy than a traditional build whilst providing a comfortable temperature of between 20 and 25C throughout the year.

Alongside the optimal temperature the air quality is kept high by an efficient mechanical heat recovery system. Pollens are filtered out and humidity level is managed through the continuous exchange of air leading to no mould, no dust mites and no condensation.

Undergoing the certification will provide the assurance that the building performs as designed.

High performing Homes

A high-performance house is a type of building design that is optimized for energy efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. These houses are designed to be highly insulated, airtight, and to reduce energy usage for heating and cooling by the optimisation of glazing. The design also considers aspects such as, indoor air quality. High-performance houses utilise advanced building techniques to reduce energy consumption, all the while maintaining optimum temperature and humidity throughout the year. As a result they can provide savings on energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional housing. Additionally, the use of sustainable materials and eco-friendly products promotes a more environmentally friendly lifestyle while ensuring a comfortable and healthy living space for the occupants.
