What has been happening this month?

In only 3 weeks Christmas will be upon us. Everyone seems to be busy trying to get the ‘to do’ list completed. Below are a few updates from our team

Environmental Update

The use of Lead-based paints on New Zealand buildings was a common practice until the 1980’s. This practice has left a legacy of problems for home occupiers, businesses and anyone involved in repainting and re-decorating. Particles from lead paint are a health hazard. Care needs to be taken when working with lead-based paint to ensure building occupants, neighbours and the general public are safe from harm. The Ministry of Health has published Guidelines for the Management of Lead-based Paint and Worksafe has created Workplace Exposure Standards that should be followed.

We can help you to reduce the risk by undertaking an assessment before workers enter the site or we can provide a general assessment on any property (for piece of mind)

If you would like more information get in touch.

Engineering Update

Our Engineers have been busy working on a few local commercial projects.

Our Architectural team designed the new look Motorworld alongside our Engineering team who provided the structural designs and inspections.

Our Engineers have worked with the Council’s Architect on the Lansdowne Park project. We have provided the Structural details and carried out inspections on this project

If you have a commercial project in mind. Come and see us we can provide a ‘Concept to Completion’ service or just a single element of the project

Architectural Update

Breathing Life into a 1980’s home.

The new owners of this house wanted a modern home with open plan living and an expansive deck to take advantage of outdoor living and the stunning views from living a stone’s throw away from Waikawa’s waters edge.

The alteration comprised of reforming the roof, re-cladding the exterior, re- modelling interior spaces and extending the garage to accommodate a couple of vintage cars.

The deck is their favourite part of the build. It is constructed from ceramic tiles suspended with jacks above a graded waterproof membrane deck. This allowed the deck level to be flush with the floor level of the building. See the transformation below

We hope these clients enjoy their new home and wish them well in their retirement.

If you have a renovation dream or are stuck for ideas and don’t know where to start, come and see us to start the exciting process of creating your dream home
